Artist NOTE _ Hwang Je-seong
Props that are used as devices to cross the concept of time and space, such as classic cars, old gramophones, suitcases, light airplanes, Pinocchio dolls, antique sofas, lollipops, and horses with wings, were used... to stimulate fairy tale sensibilities. In particular, Pinocchio is an icon of a representative protagonist. Pinocchio is a wooden doll who wants to become human, but he is also a self-portrait of ourselves who wants to escape reality. Imagining childhood innocence is bound to bring great comfort to adults who are tired from everyday life. As the overall theme, “circle of life,” is already reminiscent of, the real world where each moment is repeated infinitely accumulates, ultimately showing the “persistence of circulating life force.” It depicts a “multi-dimensional world” that coexists with other dimensions encountered in the world we live in now. It’s like the perspective of an ‘adult fairy tale’ where childhood and adulthood come together.
