Kim Jeong Eun
Our life is filled with colorful memory colors in pure white canvas. The memory is like opening a Pandora's box, the light of excitement and the light of fear are mixed, touching all our senses, and the moment comes when we have to awaken our emotions, and face to me in the memory. The inner memory colors that I encounter at some point not only look at me through a mirror, but also confront the colors I have captured in them head-on, abstractly capturing various forms of my inner world that I cannot see through the colors in the mirror. Like putting together the cracks of an unfinished life piece by piece, I touch the petals with the color of emotion and draw my memories in the works.
Our life is filled with colorful memories and colors in a pure white drawing paper. As if opening Pandora's box, the light of excitement and the light of fear are mixed together in that memory, touching all of our senses and starting to awaken our emotions, and the moment comes when we have to face the self in our memories. The color of the inner memory that I encounter at some point is like looking at myself through a mirror, not just by looking at myself, but by directly facing the color that I have contained within it, and abstractly capturing the various invisible forms of my inner self through the colors in the mirror. Pay it out As if putting together the unfinished cracks of life piece by piece, I draw my memories in my work by touching the flower petals with the color of emotion. heterogeneous media are utilized in one work.
The image of a figurative flower meets color and light and transforms into an abstract screen, and the hybridity left here and there allows the viewer's life to be projected onto the truth that cannot be concrete and the reality that cannot be captured in the concrete. Kim Jong-un's flowers, which express emotional colors, capture the emotions blooming in the heart and no longer exist as objects, but change into spiritual and abstract images, visualizing the beautiful moments of flowers through an inner filter. The unfolding reminiscent of these images captures and visualizes the emotions blooming in the mind, and at the moment when each personal narrative is encountered, the artist did not intentionally place a specific referent in the viewer's mind, but the viewer sees their emotions through the filter of emotional color.
You encounter the essence inherent in life. Life is short, extremely short, and Kim Jung-eun's work allows us to pause and possess the sorrowful moments that make us want to hold on to the most beautiful sensations and memories in every moment of our existence. Although it is only a momentary relief, encountering these works nevertheless seems to allow me to find a reason within myself to continue living. Kim Jong-un's emotional color comes from lacquer, a traditional Korean craft technique.
