Son Woo Jung
Dream! Imagine! Be free! This is the most important factor in my work. I chose to draw as a way to talk about my own utopia of dreaming and imagining. Because it can best show the world I see.
Moa, a girl with deer antlers in the work, is a projection of my self and leads the story I want to tell. Also, white tigers, cats and other animals that are always with the girls represent the ones I love. In particular, the white tiger in the work is now a projection of my cat, Nami, who broke up across the rainbow bridge. The reason why I expressed it as a white tiger instead of a cat is that I began to paint Nami, who was naturally sick when he was alive, as a white tiger in my imagination, hoping that he would no longer be sick and live as a strong creature.
A little strange but mysterious place, my own utopia, where everything I imagine is possible, started with my wish to keep the world of looking at with a child's heart forever. In the end, creating and drawing utopia with my wishes and heart is the same as the process of reaching happiness, the ultimate purpose of life through self-realization. "There is no limit to imagination. Also, if I imagine and believe, that is the reality.
